Nestled in a secluded glen a couple of miles north of Boxley Valley and the Buffalo National River, Azalea Falls Lodge makes a relaxing, comfortable getaway.
Azalea Falls Lodge is a 3000 square foot home in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright, built entirely of rock, glass and redwood. It is surrounded by 3000 square feet of decks and patios, overlooks a waterfall and offers 90 acres of woodland trails, creeks and surprise patios.
A couple looking for a magical romantic getaway or a group looking for an uncommonly comfortable place to meet will find this luxurious, private residence the perfect retreat for a weekend or a week.
Filled with generations of antiques, collectibles and artwork, the lodge is fully appointed with satellite TV, complete stereo system, VCR and telephone/computer hook-up (if desired). The kitchen is modern and equipped with all the cookware, utensils and dishes you will need as well as a microwave, oven, dishwasher and trash compactor. There is a propane grill for barbecuing on the deck.
There are two large fireplaces, one in the master bedroom sitting area and one in the living room. With three full bedrooms, three couches that make into queen-sized beds and three full baths, the lodge can accommodate up to 12 people comfortably.
Azalea Falls Cabin
Take a stroll along the hiking trail and you will come upon Azalea Falls Cabin, a 1700 square foot, chalet style log home. Like the lodge, the cabin is filled with artwork and antiques and also offers all the modern conveniences, including satellite TV, VCR, stereo, central heat and air and telephone/computer hook-up.
There are 3 large bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, a living room with a fireplace and a separate dining room. The kitchen is fully furnished and includes a dishwasher, microwave, coffee pot, toaster and all the dishes and pots and pans you will need. The loft area contains the master suite, complete with 2 sitting areas, a balcony and a bath with a large jacuzzi tub. With the 3 bedrooms and 3 couches that convert into queen beds, the cabin can accomodate up to 12 people. Ramps leading into the cabin also allow wheelchair accessibility.
With 1000 square feet of deck space overlooking the hollow, a propane grill and plenty of outside seating, there is lots of room to enjoy the great outdoors. And, guests of the cabin are invited to take the hiking trail which meanders through the hollow, past wild azaleas, umbrella magnolias and rock houses, to the waterfall.
